General Policies and Other Information

Massage Therapy Disclaimer

Massage therapy is a professional, non-invasive practice focused on the manipulation of soft tissues to promote relaxation, reduce stress, and support physical well-being. While massage can help manage discomfort, ease tension, and encourage healing, it is not intended to diagnose, treat, or cure medical conditions. Massage therapists do not provide medical evaluations or services outside their licensed scope of practice. Clients should consult a licensed healthcare provider for any concerns requiring medical attention.

Client Intake Form & Arrival Policy

All new clients are required to complete a confidential health and personal history form prior to their session. This ensures your massage is safe, appropriate, and tailored to your individual needs.

Clients must be at least 18 years of age. Please arrive 15 minutes early to complete forms and settle in. Late arrivals may result in a shortened session, as appointment times cannot be extended beyond the scheduled end.

Existing and New Medical Conditions

For the safety and effectiveness of massage therapy, it is crucial to communicate any medical conditions you may have. Conditions like pregnancy, heart disease, diabetes, high blood pressure, or recent surgeries can significantly influence the type of massage you receive. A thorough understanding of your health allows the therapist to tailor the session to your needs, ensuring not only a relaxing experience but also one that aligns with your medical requirements and promotes healing. Always consult with your healthcare provider before beginning any new treatment, especially if you have pre-existing medical conditions or concerns.

Confidentiality

Your privacy matters. All personal and health information shared at Hands of an Angel Massage is kept strictly confidential and will never be released without your written consent. Records are securely maintained in accordance with legal and ethical standards. This commitment to confidentiality protects your personal information and builds the trust essential to a safe, professional therapeutic environment.

PERSONAL EXPERIENCE

~ Conversation

Massage is often most effective in a calm, quiet environment. While silence can support deep relaxation, open communication is always welcome. Clients are encouraged to speak up at any time—whether to adjust pressure, ask questions, or simply share how they're feeling. Your comfort and experience matter.

This is your time.

~ Emotions

Massage can unlock more than physical tension—it may also release stored emotions held in the body. This is a natural and valid part of the healing process. Should emotions arise during or after a session, you are in a safe, judgment-free space. Everyone processes healing differently. You are always encouraged to honor what your body and spirit need in that moment.

~ Pain and Discomfort

Massage therapy aims to promote healing and relaxation—not to cause pain. Some discomfort may occur when addressing tight or damaged muscles, but it should never be overwhelming or unbearable. Communication is key; please let your therapist know immediately if pressure or sensations become uncomfortable, so techniques can be adjusted to ensure your safety and comfort.

~ Professional Boundaries and Conduct

Massage therapy is strictly a professional, non-sexual service. Any inappropriate behavior, comments, or advances—including sexual remarks, requests, or touching—will result in immediate termination of the session without refund. Clients exhibiting such behavior may be asked to leave and may be refused future services.

~ Client Modesty and Draping

To ensure your comfort and comply with Texas state law, proper draping is used during all massage sessions. Only the area being worked on is uncovered at any time, maintaining your modesty and privacy throughout the treatment.

This practice supports a respectful and professional environment.

Appointment Times

Please arrive at least 10 to 15 minutes early to complete any necessary paperwork and prepare for your session. Timely arrival ensures you receive your full scheduled massage time without delay. If you anticipate being late, please notify us as soon as possible. Late arrivals may result in a shortened session to avoid impacting other clients.

Canceling and Appointment

Please give at least 24 hours’ notice for cancellations or rescheduling. No-shows or cancellations made with less than 24 hours’ notice may be subject to a fee.

Timely communication respects everyone’s time and helps keep scheduling smooth and fair for all clients.
